DESCRIZIONE CORSO

The objective of the course is to maintain  your language skills in English and possibly to increase them. The course is for students  whose language level is B1 or B2, that is to say the intermediate level.
Should the majority of students be at a higher level, the text to listen to, to read and speak and write about, will be chosen to match their level. Actually, at the first lesson we will be listening to and reading a couple of short texts whose levels are different, so that everybody can be aware of their own level of English reading. How is the lesson organized? Mainly in 4 phases.

  1. Listening to a recorded voice and reading of an abridged version of a prose text of literature in English. Language skills involved: reading and listening.

  2. Speaking in English about the text to check comprehension of the text. Language skills involved: reading and speaking.

  3. Speaking in English about the text to give personal opinion on the topics of the text. Language skills involved: speaking and listening to the other members of the group.

  4. Writing a paragraph in English about the text to give personal opinion on the topics of the text. Language skills involved: writing and reading a paragraph written by another member of the group. The class is often divided into pairs and small groups to have more chance to speak and longer speaking time,  so that the speaking won't be made only by the teacher and by the most assertive students.
